What to expect....

Campers will spend 1 week completely unplugged from phones, tablets, and televisions. What does this mean for them? It means they'll learn social skills, the true value of a face-to-face conversation, and have so much laughter. But don't worry, 4-H staff will keep parents up to date throughout the week with daily camp photos and messages. Parents are also welcome to send messages and goodie packages to their campers throughout the week (more details on this system will be shared once registered).

A week unplugged!

Where do campers stay?

Campers and counselors are lodged by county. Than means Augusta kids will be lodged with Augusta kids. We stay in motel-style lodging. Each room usually houses 4-5 campers and 1 counselor. Adults stay in separate rooms just down the hall so we can always keep our eyes and ears open. Each room also has its own full bathroom. In 2026, girls do have the opportunity to spill into another lodge if additional space is needed that has larger shared bathrooms. We are big on maintaining modesty and privacy no matter what.

Who will be supervising campers?

This is a shared effort by 4-H staff, adult volunteers, teen counselors, and camp center staff. All who are over the age of 18 are background checked and EVERYONE with supervision responsibilities undergo at least 24 hours of training on specific and required modules each year.

Why choose us?

We LOVE camp! It's not uncommon to find us dressed up for theme nights just like the campers and counselors. But more than that, safety and care of your camper is our tip top priority and we're more than happy to discuss any concerns or questions you might have. Our camp is American Camp Association (ACA) Accredited, which means we meet and maintain certain standards on health, safety, and risk management.

Emmalee (4-H Extension Agent) and Morgan (4-H Educator) are with your campers and counselors every step of the way. We run camp registration, oversee 4-H Online enrollment, train teen counselors, plan camp classes, and are there every single second of camp week. We can be reached by email (Emmalee - eaedwards@vt.edu; Morgan - mcole432@vt.edu) or by phone (540-245-5750).
